The ISO 9001 : 2015 Survey Results by Industry

Here at QMS we pride ourselves on providing a tailored approach to every single customer.  We understand that real success comes from being able to support your organisation in a way that is utterly relevant to the world in which you’re working.

That’s why, as well as looking at the headline statistics in our 2016 client survey, we also broke the results down by industry sector:

Agriculture

  • 100% of respondents working in the agriculture sector…
    • gained new customers as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • noted increased customer satisfaction and more effective customer communication.
    • said that their supplier performance improved as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • saw an improvement in the effectiveness of management reviews.
  • Best of all… 100% experienced more than one benefit as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and rated the benefits versus expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

Charity

  • 100% of respondents working in the charity sector saw an improved quality management process a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • 100% of respondents also experienced more effective management reviews as a result of the process.
  • 80% of respondents saw a reduction in the number and magnitude of errors.
  • 80% also saw increased customer satisfaction as a result of the ISO 9001 process.
  • Once again 100% experienced more than one benefit as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Construction

  • 99% of respondents working in the construction sector gained a more efficient management framework and 96% improved quality management processes, as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Almost 70% of respondents rated the benefits of ISO 9001 against expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher) and of those that had completed more than one Management System with QMS a similar number considered the benefits of that to be the same.

Education

  • Over three quarters of all respondents in the education sector said that they had experienced improved quality management processes as a result of completing the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Over half of all respondents noted a reduced number of errors.
  • 88% of all education sector respondents experienced more than one benefit as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Energy/Natural Resources

  • 100% of respondents working in the energy/natural resources sector saw an improved quality management process as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Over 80% commented that they’d also experienced a more efficient management framework.
  • Best of all… a similar number experienced more than one benefit a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and rated the experience as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

Engineering

  • 80% of all Engineering sector respondents experienced more than one benefit as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • And almost three quarters of respondents rated the benefits of ISO 9001 against expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

Finance/Insurance

  • 80% of respondents in the finance/insurance industry saw more effective management reviews as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • And the same number saw more than one benefit from the process, with over 60% scoring the process as excellent or higher (7/10 or above), in terms of benefits against expectations.

Hospitality/Catering

  • 100% of respondents working in the hospitality/catering sector…
    • saw an improvement in processes as a direct result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
    • gained better supply chain communication.
    • experienced higher levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Best of all… 100% experienced more than one benefit as result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and over half rated the benefits versus expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

IT

  • Almost three quarters of respondents, working in the IT sector, saw improved quality management processes, increased customer satisfaction and a more efficient management framework as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and working with QMS.
  • In fact, almost 80% experienced more than one benefit and rated the benefits of ISO 9001 against expectations as excellent or higher (7/10 or above).

Manufacturing/Production

  • Over three quarters of manufacturing and production companies said that they saw an improved quality management process as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and working with QMS.
  • 80% experienced more than one benefit a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • And best of all? Over 75% rated the benefits versus expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

Medical/Pharmaceutical

  • With 80% of medical/pharmaceutical respondents claiming to have seen improved quality management processes it was great to also see that a similar number also experienced more than one benefit of the process and working with QMS.
  • Over 60% of respondents said the benefits against expectations were excellent or higher (7/10 or above).

Public Sector

  • 80% of respondents in the public sector saw an increased level of customer satisfaction, as a direct result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • And the same number experienced more than one benefit a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and rated the benefits versus expectations as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

Retail

  • 100% of respondents working in the retail sector gained new customers as a result of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Service Industry

  • Almost three quarters of respondents, working in the service industry, considered that they had seen an improved quality management process as a result of ISO 9001 and working with QMS.
  • And over half experienced higher levels of customer satisfaction.

Transport

  • 83% of transport sector respondents saw an improved quality management process following the ISO 9001 process and working with QMS.
  • 92% experienced more than one benefit from the process, with over 80% ranking the benefits versus expectations, of ISO 9001, as excellent or above (7/10 or higher).

And the same number felt the same way about the other Management Systems that they have in place!
