ISO 37001 Published Today – the Anti-bribery Management System Standard

17.10.2016

Today we saw the publication of ISO 37001. This is the new anti-bribery Standard written by ISO.org.

The new Standard follows the same Annex SL structure that is used in other Management Standards including ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. This means that it has been designed to be easily integrated into an organisation’s existing management processes and controls.

Bribery is believed to be one of the most destructive and challenging issues in the world today, costing over $1,000,000.00 (US). Yet despite efforts to tackle bribery, it remains a significant issue. It is hoped that the new ISO 37001 Standard will help Organisations to prevent, detect and address bribery. Demonstrating these efforts nationally and internationally.

Organisations looking to become certified will need to adopt an anti-bribery policy and appoint a responsible person to oversee all anti-bribery compliance, training, reporting and investigation procedures.
